FAQs

{Q:} Where will my hair and make-up be done?

We have a hair and make-up artist onsite. It is our desire to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. One way we do this is by trying to limit the number of trips you would need to take for a makeover. You can just sit back and enjoy an experience that is personalized just for you.

{Q:} What should I wear?

{A:} This is probably the most popular question…. and the answer is simple – whatever you feel most beautiful in. It can be a bodysuit, an over-sized sweater, cropped sweatshirt and high waist panties, a robe, sleep shirt…you get the drift.  Some clients opt for lingerie.  In a 1.5 hour photo session, you will typically have time for up to 3-5 “looks” or outfits (yes, “nude” counts as an outfit)! Don’t stress about wardrobe, once you’ve completed the booking process with me, you will also receive emails that will help you with preparations and wardrobe considerations!

{Q:} Do I need to buy my own lingerie?

{A:} Yes! We have some items in the client closet you are welcome to use, but not much. We ask that when you use these items you use your own panties for sanitation reasons.

{Q:} The women on your website all look like models. I don’t look like a “model”…can I do this??

{A:} I will take that as compliment, THANK YOU! Most of these women thought the same thing at one point. It is my job to show you your true beauty and how to value the body that you are in. I know women. I know exactly how to pose all types of women to look their very best. You don’t have to know what you are doing, that’s my job. I will direct you every step of the way, from helping to you prepare for your photo shoot with wardrobe tips, to posing every inch of you. You just need to show up and TRUST ME.

{Q:} How far in advance should I book my session?

{A:} I recommend that women have their session scheduled at least 2 months prior to needing the finished product in-hand. Also, I tend to book up quickly and relatively far in advance. Sessions are held during the weekdays. Most popular day is Friday so, they tend to fill up fast. That said, DON’T WAIT – email me! It’s never too early to get on my schedule, I have some clients requesting bookings as far out as 7 months ahead.

{Q:} I am interested, what do I need to do to book?

{A:} All we have to do is set up a time to talk for about 10-15 mins. We will go over what to expect before/during/after the session, fees, and answer any questions you may have and schedule your session.  It is important for us to provide you with all the information that will be helpful prior to booking.

{Q:} When and how will I select my favorite images from my shoot?

{A:} CloudCover Photography offers in-person (or remote for special cases) photo reveal / ordering appointments within two weeks of  your photo session. We do this in order to help clients decide between images, showing similar images side by side for easier selection, and assisting clients with getting great variety for albums and the perfect wall art pieces. The in-person photo reveal is our client’s favorite part, as it is ours.

Second, for security. Boudoir photos can be sensitive in nature, we don’t want your images on an online proofing gallery leaving them vulnerable to being hacked an exploited. We take your privacy seriously; the in-person photo reveal helps to ensure your images remain private!

Some of our clients travel from out of state for their sessions, and it just wouldn’t be practical for them to come back in for their photo reveal appointment a few weeks later. In this case we offer Zoom, Google Hangout screenshare. It’s a not the same as our in-person viewings, but it is a great back-up option for those who cannot return without having to store any of your images online.

{Q:} Do you offer destination sessions?

Yes!! If a client has a group of friends that are interested in a boudoir session, we can most certainly come to you. We would need at least eight sessions booked in your area. We rent an Airbnb for the weekend and schedule everyone during that window to guarantee the sessions are with only those scheduled.

{Q:} Can I have someone with me at my session?

{A:} Sometimes your best friend is exactly what you need to calm your nerves to get started with your session! We don’t mind if there is a female friend with you. We DO ask that the friend not interfere with the shoot (running in to “touch you up” in between every shot, directing your posing, etc.) we will handle anything along those lines that needs to be done.  We allow only one friend. Want to do one better than having a friend there for moral support??? Why don’t you book your photo shoots back-to-back so you can both enjoy the experience together?!  Availability pending… of course. Also, no boyfriends / husbands are allowed during your session. This is a firm policy.

{Q:} On which days of the week can I have my photo session?

{A:} We accept shoots 5 days a week, Monday through Friday.

{Q:} What should I do to prepare?

{A:} You will receive emails shortly after booking your session. This will cover exactly how you should prepare, as well as a complete list of resources for wardrobe for your photo shoot! No questions will remain unanswered.  I pride myself on offering a photo shoot EXPERIENCE to my clients…so expect a very informed process that involves a lot more instruction than just showing up to shoot and being done with it.

{Q:} I am a school teacher/pastor’s wife/high profile actress/the first lady and if these photos were leaked it would destroy my reputation… Will these be on the internet???

{A:}  I can TOTALLY understand if you don’t want your images shared with the public! You can rest absolutely assured that your images will never be shared without your permission. In the event that you are super awesome and proud of your images and do permit me to use them on my VIP Ladies Lounge (private FaceBook Group) or website, your real name will not be used and I will NEVER tag you on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram.

{Q:} Do you photograph men?

{A:} Nope. I know what I’m good at, and posing men is just not my specialty. I’m always happy to offer referrals to other photographers, though!
